Absolute neutrophil count (ANC)

Calculate ANC from the WBC count and separately reported neutrophil and band percentages.

Intended population: CBC differential with percentages that do not double-count bands.

If the laboratory already includes bands in neutrophil percentage, do not add them again. A reported absolute laboratory count may be preferable. This calculation does not assess fever, infection risk or treatment need.
